Registered Nurse (ER) - Travel/Contract
Location: Holyoke, Massachusetts
Contract Length: 8 weeks
Job Overview
Seeking experienced ER Registered Nurses for night shift travel assignments starting late November / early December.
- Shift: 3x12 hour shifts
- Hours: 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM (includes 30-minute lunch)
- Environment: Dynamic, full-spectrum Emergency Department serving all ages, including a locked behavioral health unit (12-bed capacity)
- Patient Population: All ages (birth through end of life), predominantly adults; occasional pediatric patients (Level 1 pediatric trauma center nearby)
- Work Setting: High-acuity, fast-paced
Requirements
- Active Massachusetts RN license or eligible for emergency MA license
- ACLS, BLS, CPI, and PALS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years recent ED RN experience
- Must have completed at least 1 prior travel assignment (first-time travelers should indicate status for screening)
- CPI training provided onsite
Certifications & Competencies
- Required:
- ACLS (AHA)
- BLS (AHA)
- PALS (AHA)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) – can be completed onsite
- Preferred:
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
- Testing:
- Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) required before orientation
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam required for ED RNs
- Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam (minimum 80% score)
Background & Compliance
- Standard background check including SSN trace, county criminal, nationwide criminal, and Massachusetts statewide iCORI clearance (updated annually)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required annually
- Massachusetts Nurse Aide Registry Search required for all travelers in MA
- Confidentiality agreement and health requirements must be completed prior to start
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine or signed declination
- Negative TB test (PPD, Tspot, or Qgold) within 1 year or chest x-ray if previously positive
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (declinations not accepted)
- Hepatitis B: Positive titer or signed declination
- Drug screening: 10-panel within 1 year of start
- Seasonal flu vaccine or declination required during flu season (Oct 1 - Apr 30)
- COVID-19 vaccine (dose 1, fully vaccinated, booster) preferred or signed declination
