    Physical Therapist Job Opportunity - Bakersfield, California

    Specialty: Physical Therapy (PT)
    Location: Bakersfield, California
    Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)


    Job Details

    • Setting: Acute Inpatient

    • Patient Load: Approximately 12 patients treated per day

    • Patient Types / Diagnoses:

      • General Medical / Deconditioned
      • Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA)
      • Total Hip Arthroplasty (THA)
      • Spinal surgery
      • General orthopedic patients
      • Cerebrovascular Accident (CVA) patients
    • Areas to Cover:

      • Medical/Surgical
      • Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
      • Emergency Room (ER)
    • Experience Required:

      • Acute Inpatient Physical Therapy experience is required
    • Certifications Required:

      • BLS (Basic Life Support)
      • California PT License

    Schedule & Work Conditions

    • Typical Shift: Mostly 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
    • Occasional Shift: One day per week from 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM
    • Weekend Requirement: One weekend every third weekend (with the Monday and Friday off following that weekend)
    • Holiday Requirement: None

    Additional Information

    • Orientation:
      • General hospital orientation followed by a few days rotating through different areas to become familiar with the system
    • Dress Code: Burgundy polo and scrub or khaki bottoms
    • Support Staff: No PTAs available; one aide covers one hospital
    • Float Schedule: Days, every other week (EOW), first to float

    This position is suitable for a Physical Therapist with acute inpatient experience looking for a structured schedule and diverse patient population in a hospital setting.
