Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) – MS/Tele Float
Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Start Date: Approximately 3-4 weeks from compliance clearance
- Unit: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Float Pool
- Float Assignments: Medical units, renal, oncology, neuro, cardiology
- Float Process:
- Pre-assigned units communicated with timeframe
- Float pool nurses call in up to 1 hour before shift for unit assignment
- Ratios:
- Days & Weekends: 1:5-6
- Nights: 1:6
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years
- First-time Travelers: Accepted
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule minimum (Saturday/Sunday), plus holiday rotation
- On-call: Not required
- Guaranteed Hours: Yes, minimum 3 shifts per 13-week contract
- Local Candidates: Not accepted (75-mile radius rule)
- Pending License: Accepted
- Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: No more than 7 days off per 13-week contract
- Special Equipment Training: Lift devices, ceiling lifts, bladder scanner

- IV Start Certification
- Telemetry Certification

Background Checks
- Criminal background check within 6 months (7-year search including statewide, nationwide, and international if applicable)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG quarterly checks
- State-specific searches (Missouri and Illinois)
- Education verification of highest nursing degree
- Fingerprinting required for Illinois long-term care or rehab float assignments
Licensure
- Primary source verification of professional nursing license (Missouri licenses verified via NURSYS)
- Temporary licenses accepted with approval
- IV certification proof required for LPNs/LVNs in Missouri
Competency Exams
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (must meet passing score)
- Unit-specific competency exam (updated annually)
- Oncology competency exam required for Med Surg-Oncology unit
Health Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit mask test (N95 respirators) annually
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine or declination
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year
- Immunizations or immunity documentation for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Drug testing within 1 year, must include specific panels and be valid throughout assignment
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season (Sept-April)

- Nurses will float within their scope to meet facility needs across multiple units
- Block scheduling is not accommodated
- Candidates must adhere to all policies and complete required training and documentation prior to start
- Candidates must be prepared for weekend and holiday rotations as specified
