Job Details
- Start Date: ASAP
- Shift Ratios: 1:2
- Experience Required: Minimum 3 years
- First-Time Travelers: Accepted
- Floating: Required between like units
- Call: Not required
- Pending License: Not accepted
- Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
- Charting System: Epic
- Scrub Color: Any solid color (typically Royal Blue or Navy for RNs)
- Parking: Free on first day; assignment parking provided during orientation
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification only
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification only
- Other certifications may be required based on unit and clinical track (e.g., PALS, NRP, Chemotherapy, EFM)
Licensure
- Must hold a valid California RN license
- NURSYS verification required for all RNs
- CPDH Certificate required for Respiratory Therapists working in CA (if applicable)
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Education verification required for all candidates
- Drug screening: 10-panel within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
- References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty within last 3 years
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
- Fit mask test required for travel candidates (updated annually)
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- TDAP (within 10 years or declination accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual updates required)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
- COVID-19 vaccine or declination (required if onsite)
- Respiratory safety clearance required for travel candidates (annual)
Orientation and Training
- Completion of Providence Health and Services WorkRamp modules required prior to start, including:
- Core modules for RN profession in California
- Specialty-specific modules depending on unit (e.g., ER, ICU, L&D)
- Annual regulatory modules
- Epic training modules required; must be completed within a week of orientation
- Badge photo required (passport style with neutral background)
Additional Notes
- Floating policy acknowledgment required; may be asked to float to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance
- Facility allows one shift call-off per two weeks
- No call required for this position
- Pending licenses are not accepted
- All required documents and compliance items must be submitted and approved prior to start
