    Radiology / Cardiology Travel/Contract Job - Apple Valley, California

    Job Details

    • Shift Information:
      • Must be open to all shift times (cannot accommodate specific shift requests)
      • Self-scheduling based on seniority
      • CT start times: 0600, 0800, 1500, 1700
      • Ratios: 1:1
      • Weekend requirement: Pending
    • Call Requirement: No on-call
    • Floating: No floating between units
    • Block Schedule: May be accommodated per unit need
    • Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off once every two-week pay period
    • Locals accepted at the same rate
    • Charting System: Epic
    • Parking: Free parking available

    Experience & Licensure Requirements

    • Minimum 1 year of experience required
    • First-time travelers accepted
    • Pending license not accepted
    • Required Certifications:
      • BLS (Basic Life Support)
      • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
      • ARRT Advanced
      • CA CRT (California Certified Radiologic Technologist)
      • CT Certification
    • State License: CPDH Certificate required for all Respiratory Therapists working in California

    Certifications (General Requirements)

    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification
    • BLS - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) - Current certification by AAP, AHA, or Canadian Paediatric Society
    • Chemotherapy certification (if applicable)
    • Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification (if applicable)
    • IV Certification (LVN/LPN/Other) as required
    • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) as required
    • NIH Stroke Certification (every 2 years)
    • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification as required
    • National Tech Certification verification for Allied Professionals (as applicable)
    • NURSYS verification for RNs/LPNs/APs

    Background Checks & Compliance

    • Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start, updated monthly
    • Education Verification required for all candidates
    • State-specific searches required for Washington and Oregon placements (not applicable here)
    • Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (instant tests not accepted)
    • References: Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment within last 3 years (6 months for CNAs)
    • Employment Application: Must include at least last 5 years of employment with explanations for gaps/overlaps

    Health Requirements

    • Physical Exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
    • Fit Mask testing required for travel candidates (updated annually)
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer with declination option
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination (special rules for Alaska placements)
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer with declination option
    • Seasonal Flu vaccination or declination required during flu season
    • COVID-19 vaccination or declination required if onsite
    • Respirator Safety Clearance required for travel candidates (annual clearance)

    Competencies & Skills

    • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable
    • Color Blind Testing if required by unit
    • Competency Exams as applicable by specialty
    • Skills Checklist updated annually (clinical specialties)
    • Radiation Badge issued by facility if applicable

    Facility Specific Requirements

    • Photo for badge (passport style with neutral background)
    • Completion of Providence Health and Services WorkRamp modules:
      • Core Modules by profession (RN, LVN, CNA, Allied, etc.)
      • Specialty-specific modules for certain roles (ER, L&D, Leadership, etc.)
      • Regional Core and Specialty modules as applicable
      • Annual Regulatory Requirements modules
    • Epic training modules completion required prior to moving to Per Diem Work status
    • Compliance with Providence floating policy acknowledgment (may be required to float to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance)

    This position requires flexibility with shifts, appropriate certifications, and compliance with Providence Health and Services policies and training modules. Candidates must meet all licensure, background, health, and competency requirements prior to start.
