    Description

    Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

    Location: San Francisco, California
    Contract Length: 13 weeks


    Job Requirements

    • Valid California RN License
    • BLS (AHA) Certification
    • ACLS Certification
    • NIHSS Certification
    • Minimum 3 years ICU experience required; 4 years preferred

    Shift Details

    • 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (0700-1930)
    • No on-call duties
    • Weekend rotation required
    • Floating as needed

    Background Check Requirements

    • 7-year background check within 6 months of start, including:
      • Social Security Trace with all aliases
      • County searches for last 7 years of residence/work/school
      • Nationwide Sex Offender Search (within 90 days of start)
      • Education verification (highest level achieved)
      • FACIS Level 3 screening within 2 weeks of start and monthly thereafter
      • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks, updated annually
      • Motor Vehicle Report if applicable (driving positions only)
    • Transcript/Diploma verification if education verification unsuccessful
    • Pending background check attestation not accepted at this facility

    Certifications Required

    • ACLS (AHA or ARC)
    • BLS (AHA or ARC)
    • NIH Stroke Certification (NIHSS)
    • Other certifications may be position-dependent and verified prior to start, including but not limited to:
      • PALS, NRP, CCRN, TNCC, EFM, CPI, MAB
    • State License verification and NURSYS verification within 30 days of start
    • Tech Certification verification as applicable

    Competency Exams

    • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
    • Competency exams relevant to profession with minimum passing score of 80% (or Angoff score if higher)
    • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam may be required for some units
    • ICU RNs at this system may be required to take an EKG exam onsite after start

    Health and Immunization Requirements

    • Physical exam within 1 year of start (must clear candidate for work)
    • Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually (exceptions apply)
    • Adult Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days, renewed annually
    • Immunity or vaccination documentation for:
      • Rubeola (Measles)
      • Mumps
      • Rubella
      • Hepatitis B (series or declination)
      • Varicella
    • Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids per CA law)
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination during flu season (Nov 1 - Apr 30)
    • Color blind exam if applicable (in-person only)
    • Respiratory safety clearance prior to start, renewed annually (exceptions apply)

    Documentation and Compliance

    • Full 7 years of work history required on application with no gaps
    • Employment verification for up to 7 years required; gaps over 30 days must be explained
    • Unit-specific skills checklist required, renewed annually
    • Candidate must review and sign facility-specific documents including:
      • Job description
      • Standards of Business Conduct
      • Code of Conduct
      • Vendor Training
      • Overpayment Refund Policy
      • Regulatory Orientation
      • Dress Code Policy
      • Conditional Offer of Employment Attestation
      • Religious Accommodation Forms if applicable
      • TB Screening Questionnaire within 90 days of start, renewed annually
      • Epic Questionnaire (for RNs starting 11/3/2025 and onward)

    Additional Notes

    • Floating to other units as needed
    • No on-call responsibilities
    • Weekend rotation required
    • Some certifications and requirements may be verified or required on a case-by-case basis depending on position specifics
