Description
Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Thomasville, Georgia
Unit: IMCU Stepdown
Shift: Nights, some weekends and holidays
Start Date: Approximately 3 weeks from offer
Contract Length: 13 weeks (with possible extension)
Schedule Options: 3x12 or 4x12 shifts available
Experience Required:
- Minimum 1 year recent Critical Care & ICU experience
- Previous travel experience preferred
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
Required Skills
- Intermediate Frequency Modulation (FM)
- IV Start
- Lab Draws/Sample Collecting
- Experience titrating critical drips
Additional Requirements
- Must wear Royal Blue scrubs (not provided)
- Candidates within 30 miles of facility will not be accepted
- Candidates 31-50 miles away may have pay adjustments (not detailed here)
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
Background Checks & Verifications
- 7-year criminal background check (all locations lived/worked in past 7 years)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
- Education verification (Diploma or Transcript accepted if EDV not verifiable)
- NURSYS verification for RNs
- References: Two recent supervisor/manager level references verified within 12 months
- Performance and internal evaluations if previously worked with the system over 1 year
Licensure & Certifications
- Primary source verification of state license
- ACLS and BLS certifications current and valid
- Other certifications as applicable (e.g., PALS, NRP, TNCC) depending on specialty/unit
Health & Safety
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
- Fit test completed onsite at no cost
- TB testing: QGold or TSPOT within 30 days of start (no PPDs accepted)
- Immunizations or titers for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B
- Flu vaccine required during flu season (Sept 3 - Mar 31) unless approved medical/religious exemption
- TB questionnaire within 30 days of start
Facility Specific Requirements
- Completion of assigned HealthStream modules prior to first day
- Submission of a professional photo for badge within 24 hours of signing
- Completion of facility-specific forms (e.g., IS115, IS119) with wet or DocuSign signatures
- Adherence to dress code and other facility policies
Notes
- Minimal to no Return to Origin (RTO) allowed; must be included on submission
- Fingerprinting requirements apply for CNAs; not applicable for RNs in this role
- Candidates must carry government-issued photo ID during hours of service
- Documentation must be submitted in order and according to checklist provided by the agency
This position is ideal for experienced critical care nurses seeking a travel assignment in a stepdown unit with night shifts and a structured contract length. Compliance with all credentialing, health, and facility-specific requirements is mandatory for assignment clearance.
