Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract) - Thomasville, Georgia
Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
- Location: Thomasville, Georgia
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
- Start Date: Approximately 3 weeks from offer
- Shift: Night shift
- Schedule: Every Other Weekends (EOW), Holidays
- Unit: CPU (Cardiac Progressive Unit)
- Extension: Possible extension available
- Dress Code: Royal Blue scrubs required (not provided)
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum 3+ years recent Stepdown experience
- Previous travel experience preferred
- Skills: Intermediate/Advanced Family Medicine (FM), Telemetry, IV Start
- EMR system used: Cerner
Residency and Travel Requirements
- Candidates living within 31-50 miles of the facility qualify for local rate and are accepted.
- Candidates living less than 30 miles from the facility are not accepted as travelers.
- Verification of residence required (Driver’s License and NURSYS verification).
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
- Must include SSN Trace, Counties, National Sex Offender, FACIS Level 3, Nationwide checks
- Education verification required for all candidates (Diploma or Transcript accepted)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
- Fingerprinting: Georgia GCHEXS fingerprint results required for CNAs; process details provided for RNs
- NURSYS license verification required for all RNs
- References: Two recent supervisor/manager level references verified within 12 months
- Performance and internal evaluations required if previously worked with the facility over 1 year
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Fit test completed onsite at no cost
- Negative TB test (QGold or TSPOT) within 30 days of start; no PPDs accepted
- TB questionnaire within 30 days of start
- Immunizations or positive titers required for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
- Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
- Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (9/3 - 3/31) unless approved medical/religious exemption
- COVID-19 vaccination not required; proof of vaccine, exemption, or declination must be collected
Competency and Training Requirements
- Annual updates required for:
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
- Competency Exam
- Core Parts I, II, and III
- Facility-specific HealthStream modules must be completed prior to first day
- OSHA, HIPAA, and Joint Commission annual training or signed attestation required
Facility Specific Requirements
- Photo for badge: Must be submitted within 24 hours of signing; passport-style photo required
- Various facility-specific forms (IS115, IS119) must be completed and signed (wet ink or DocuSign)
- Dress code must be reviewed by candidate
- Flu exemption forms must be completed if requesting exemption
This position requires a highly qualified RN with stepdown experience, appropriate certifications, and compliance with extensive background, health, and training requirements. The assignment is a 13-week travel contract on night shift with holiday and weekend coverage.
