Job Opportunity: IR RN in Bakersfield, California
Position Details
- Specialty: Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse (IR RN)
- Location: Bakersfield, CA
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8-hour day shifts
- Call Requirements: Rotating call evenings, nights, weeknights, and holidays (1 major & 1 minor holiday)
- Call Response Time: 30 minutes
- Floating: Required to float to a sister facility approximately 6.5 miles away
Required Qualifications
- Licensure: California RN license required
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of IR nursing experience
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS
- Competency: Must be able to pass Procedural Sedation competency and EKG exam
- Prior Travel Experience: Not specified as required
Job Responsibilities
- Assist Interventional Radiologists with minimally invasive procedures including biopsies, drainage, angiography, angioplasty, embolization, gastrostomy tubes, cryoablation, catheter/line placements, and nephrostomy
- Assist in positioning patients for interventional radiologic procedures
- Support physicians in other modalities such as CT and ultrasound
- Knowledgeable about procedures, equipment, and procedural sedation
Work Environment
- Average cases per day vary by campus
- Approximately 2.5 staff scheduled per 24 hours on weekdays
- Scrubs provided by the hospital (navy surgical scrubs)
- Unit orientation provided by Lead RN, lasting at least one week
