Requirements

• Licensure: California Registered Nurse (CA RN Licensure)
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (highest required)
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• Skills:

  • Ambulatory surgery experience within the past 2 years
  • EPIC electronic health record experience
• Shift: 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts

Background Checks & Compliance

• 7-year background check required within 6 months of start
• Sex offender search within 90 days of start
• FACIS Level 3 screening required within 2 weeks of start and monthly thereafter
• Education verification required (Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred)
• Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to CA law)
• TB screening: Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 90 days of start, renewed annually
• Immunizations required: Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap, Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella, and seasonal flu vaccination during flu season
• Physical exam required within 1 year of start
• Fit mask test required within 1 year of start, renewed annually
• Respiratory safety clearance required prior to start, renewed annually

Certifications & Competencies

• ACLS, BLS, PALS certifications (AHA or ARC only)
• Additional certifications may be required based on position (e.g., NRP, CCRN, TNCC, EFM)
• Competency exams as applicable (medication test, dysrhythmia/EKG, unit-specific skills)

Documentation & Orientation

• Must review and sign facility-specific documents including job description, standards of business conduct, code of conduct, vendor training, and regulatory orientation prior to start
• TB questionnaire required within 90 days of start and annually thereafter
