Position Details

Experience & Certification Requirements

• Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty
• Certifications Required:

  • RN License
  • ACLS
  • BLS
  • NRP
  • Fetal Monitoring
  • AWHONN (per additional info)

Unit & Work Environment

• Unit: Women’s Services
• Number of Beds:

  • 9 Labor & Delivery
  • 3 Swing Rooms
  • 2 Operating Rooms
  • 3 Bed OBED
• Patient Ratios: 1-2 patients per nurse
• Staffing: Unit secretary and scrub tech available; dedicated CRNA and midwife in-house 24/7; OBGYN on call
• Documentation Systems: CPN and Meditech
• Scheduling: 4 weekend shifts per month required
• Floating Policy: May float to mother/baby or outside departments for tasks

• Required Skills:

  • Commitment to providing high-quality care to laboring patients
  • Support patient choice and promote vaginal birth opportunities based on patient preference
• Advanced Skills Helpful:

  • Spinning Babies technique
  • STABLE program
• Procedures Performed:

  • Circulating in OR
  • Intrauterine Pressure Catheter (IUPC)
  • Fetal Scalp Electrode (FSE)
  • Magnesium Sulfate (MgSO4) administration
  • Postpartum hemorrhage management (JADA system)
  • Nitrous oxide use
