Travel OR RN Opportunity - Grand Island, Nebraska

Position Details

Specialty: Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)
Location: Grand Island, Nebraska
Contract Length: 15 weeks
Shift: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM, 5 days per week
Call Requirements:
- 1 weeknight per week on call
- Every 5th or 6th weekend on call (Saturday/Sunday)
- Rotating holiday call
Orientation: 1 week unit/department-specific OR orientation
EMR System: EPIC

Required Certifications

BLS (Basic Life Support)
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

Experience & Skills

Minimum 3 years of experience in Neuro and experience across all surgical service lines (ortho, general, urology, neuro, ENT, GYN, pediatrics, obstetrics, geriatrics)
Ability to circulate in the OR; scrubbing experience is a plus
Must be well versed in all surgical procedures as there are no specialized teams per service line
Experience with neurosurgery, ENT, orthopedic, general surgery, gynecology, and Da Vinci robotics cases preferred
Prior travel experience is not explicitly required

Additional Requirements & Notes

Must pass a 90% score on a pass/fail open book skills exam during orientation
Must have a valid driver's license at time of submission (used to verify candidate is outside a 50-mile radius)
Radius Rule: Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius and may not be currently employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit (including CHI and Dignity)
Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas; refusal to comply will result in contract termination
Floating may be required to pre/post-op, PACU (if trained), and ER for trauma cases
Dress code/scrub color is provided
Teamwork, flexibility, and willingness to educate others are highly valued attributes
Core staff have high longevity and emphasize safety and comradery

Work Environment

7 OR suites and 2 Endoscopy suites
Charge nurse present on each shift who also takes assignments
OR techs available
