Travel RN Opportunity - Richmond, Virginia

Position Details

Unit Information

  • Unit: Medical Trauma Unit
  • Level of Care: Medical Surgical, Telemetry
  • Beds: 34 private beds, 2 semi-private beds
  • Staffing:
    • Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 7 RN/LPNs, 3 Techs, 1 DA
    • Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, 6 RN/LPNs, 3 Techs
  • Patient Ratios: 5-6 patients per nurse
  • Equipment: Remote telemetry, vein finder, bladder scanner, EKG machine, Doppler, Hoyer Lift, glucometer, pulse oximeter, scales, wound vac
  • EMR System: Meditech

Required Qualifications

  • Licenses: Registered Nurse License
  • Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years in Medical Surgical nursing

Preferred Skills

  • Trauma experience
  • Telemetry experience

Specialized Care Responsibilities

  • Management of complex wounds
  • Administration of blood products
  • Pain management
  • Care of tubes and drains (NG, PEG, feeding tubes, surgical drains)
  • Chest tube management

Work Environment

  • Dress Code: Navy scrubs
  • Schedule: Every other weekend off, no on-call required
  • Floating Areas: Medical Surgical, Telemetry (if certified)
