Home Health RN - Travel Contract

Location: Santa Maria, California
Specialty: Home Health RN
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of Home Health nursing experience
Active California RN License
BLS Certification required
Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required

Job Details

Patient load based on productivity, approximately 5 visits per day
Admissions typically count as two patients
EMR system: Netsmart (formerly Allscripts)
No charge nurse or nurse aides on the team
Weekend work: Every 3rd weekend; when working a weekend, a day off the week before or after is allowed
Holiday rotation participation required
Scrub color: Any
Shift hours: Flexible, generally Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm with a 1-hour lunch
Orientation: 1.5 to 2 weeks floor-specific orientation
Call requirement: 2-4 times per month on weekdays, from 5pm-8am
Patient types: Infusions, IV antibiotics, TPN, central lines, PICC lines, blood draws
Pediatric infusions may be required; pediatric patients are referred to ER for evaluation
Typical workday: 8 hours

Notes

The patient population is primarily adult; pediatric patients are rare and handled differently
Call shifts are weekday evenings/nights and occur multiple times per month
