    Description

    Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

    Location: San Francisco, California
    Contract Length: 13 weeks


    Job Description

    • Provide direct and indirect patient care in a clinic setting.
    • Utilize nursing processes including comprehensive patient assessment, care plan development and implementation, patient education, and ongoing evaluation.
    • Deliver holistic, individualized care considering psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors.
    • Collaborate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare providers.

    Requirements

    • California RN Licensure (CA RN Licensure)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA or ARC)
    • Experience in Scrub and Circulate roles
    • Minimum 1 year of experience in Cardiac nursing required
    • Experience in Hepatobiliary, Robotic, Spine, Ophthalmology services preferred
    • Shift: 4 x 10-hour night shifts, rotating weekends, with overtime support

    Certifications & Competencies

    • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or ARC only (verify by position)
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA or ARC only (verify by position)
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - AHA/AAP only, must be Instructor or Advanced Provider Course (verify by position)
    • CCRN (Critical Care RN) - verify by position
    • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - valid for 4 years (verify by position)
    • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) - typically required for Labor & Delivery (verify by position)
    • NIH Stroke Certification - verify by position
    • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) - verify by position
    • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam - required as applicable
    • Competency Exams (including Dysrhythmia/EKG) - required as applicable
    • Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) - ICU RNs at CPMC locations required to take onsite EKG exam after start

    Licensure & Verification

    • State License copy and primary source online verification required within 30 days of start
    • NURSYS Verification required within 30 days of start for RN
    • Transcript/Diploma and Education Verification (Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred)
    • Background checks including 7-year history, sex offender search, FACIS Level 3, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, OFAC Sanctions List, and others as applicable
    • Employment application with full 7 years of work history, no gaps
    • Work history verification up to 7 years required

    Health & Immunization Requirements

    • Physical Exam within 1 year of start (must indicate "cleared for work")
    • Fit Mask test within 1 year, renewed annually (specific mask types required)
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years (TDAP required, TD alone not accepted)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days of start, renewed annually
    • Immunizations or positive titers required for:
      • Rubeola (Measles)
      • Mumps
      • Rubella
      • Hepatitis B (series or signed declination)
      • Varicella
    • Drug Testing: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids per CA law)
    • Seasonal Flu Vaccination or signed declination required during flu season (Nov 1 - Apr 30)
    • Color Blind Exam (in-person, if applicable)
    • Respiratory Safety Clearance required prior to start, renewed annually

    Background & Facility Specific Documents

    • Must complete and sign facility-specific documents including:
      • Job Description acknowledgment
      • Standards of Business Conduct
      • Conditional Offer of Employment Attestation
      • General Regulatory Orientation for Contracted Workers
      • Vendor Training and Code of Conduct (2024 and 2025 versions as applicable)
      • Overpayment Refund Policy (2024 and 2025 versions as applicable)
      • TB Questionnaire within 90 days of start, renewed annually
      • Request for Religious Accommodation Form (if applicable)
      • Dress Code Policy review
