Registered Nurse – MS/Tele

Location: Rochester, New York

Job Details

• Shift Hours / Contract Length: 13-week contract
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Must be available to work every other holiday, if needed
• Charting System: EPIC experience required
• Call Off Policy: Up to three shifts may be canceled by client during contract without penalty
• Accepts First-Time Travelers: Yes
• Locals Accepted: No RNs within 75 miles accepted
• Floating: Required to float within skillset

Required Licenses and Certifications

• Active New York Single State RN or LPN license (NY is not Compact)
• ACLS (AHA Provider/Instructor/RQI acceptable)
• BLS (AHA Provider/Instructor/RQI acceptable)

Required Clinical Skills

• IV therapy/phlebotomy
• Blood product administration
• Peripheral line care/management
• Cardiac monitoring & emergency response
• Interpretation & management of dysrhythmias
• Rapid response/code team participation
• Nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration and tanks
• Isolation precautions
• Wound care/wound vac
• Experience in MS/Tele settings

Unit Details

• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5 (1:7 for MedSurg)
• 26 beds specializing in care of patients post PCI, pacemakers, AICDs, post MI, and cardiac pharmacologic interventions
• Scrub color: Any combination of navy blue and white

Experience Requirements

• Specialty: Registered Nurse – MS/Tele
• Years of Experience: Not explicitly stated; assume minimum 1+ year experience in MS/Tele nursing based on clinical skills and setting
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required (accepts first-time travelers)

Health and Compliance Requirements

• Government issued photo ID required
• 7-year criminal background check within 3 months of start
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 3 months of start and monthly thereafter
• Foreign equivalency education evaluation if applicable
• Education verification from primary source required
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Fit mask test within 1 year, updated annually
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
• Required immunizations or titers: Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
• Drug screening within 30 days of start
• Flu vaccination or signed declination during flu season
• Eye exam (Snellen) within 1 year
• COVID vaccination copy preferred but not required

This position is ideal for RNs with MS/Tele experience looking for a 13-week travel contract in Rochester, NY, who meet New York state licensing and certification requirements and are comfortable with floating and working every other weekend and holiday. First-time travel nurses are welcome.
