Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Lees Summit, Missouri

Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift Details
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15)
- Patient Ratio: 1:5
- Weekend Requirement: 8 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period (Friday/Saturday/Sunday combination)
- Floating: Regular floating between departments, units, and facilities as needed
- Charge RN and holiday shifts as needed
Experience & Licensure
- Minimum Experience: 1 year required, 2 years preferred
- First-time travelers accepted
- Pending license not accepted
- Must be at least 75 miles from the facility (no locals accepted)
- Return to Office (RTO) restrictions: No more than 7 days
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred
Required Skills & Clinical Competencies
- Work Settings: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry, Telemetry, Cardiac Telemetry
- Cardiac Monitoring & Emergency Response: Dysrhythmia interpretation and management, telemetry monitoring, rapid response team use
- Gastrointestinal: Feeding tube care and management
- Renal: Pre/Post Hemodialysis management, renal failure care
- IV Therapy/Phlebotomy: Blood product administration, central line, peripheral line, PICC line management, IV starts
- Medications: Heparin protocols, cardiac drips (no titration)
- Neurological/Psychiatric: Stroke (CVA), pre/post neurosurgery care
- Plastics: Surgical drain care
- Respiratory: High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), ABG interpretation, oxygen delivery devices, non-invasive airway management
- Professional Skills: Isolation precautions, wound care, wound vac management
Preferred Skills
- Work Settings: ER Holding, Neuro Stepdown, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown
- IV Therapy: Accessing ports
- Medications: Vasoactive drips (no titration), PCA management
- Neurological/Psychiatric: Traumatic brain injury care
- Orthopedics: Ortho trauma, total joint replacements
- Respiratory: Chest tubes (Emerson/Pleur-evac), external CPAP/BIPAP, tracheostomy management
Special Requirements
- Intermediate level of care including stroke, heart failure, suicidal ideation, alcohol withdrawal, respiratory failure, pneumonia, gastrointestinal bleeding, syncope, TIA, falls, COVID, flu, C. diff, continuous bladder irrigation (CBI), post-surgical patients requiring higher level monitoring, renal failure, cardiac drips, heparin management

Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued ID required
- Criminal background check within 6 months, including statewide and nationwide searches
- Quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
- Education verification required (no pending at start)
- Missouri-specific background checks including Family Care Safety Registry, Highway Patrol, and Exclusion List
- Drug testing within 1 year, must include standard panels and not expire during assignment
- Physical exam within 1 year
- Fit mask testing (N95) required and must be renewed annually
- Immunizations and titers required or declinations accepted for:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
- TB testing (2 negative PPDs or equivalent)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
- Facility-specific documents including HIPAA acknowledgement, confidentiality form, latex allergy questionnaire, hand hygiene, fingernail, and dress code policies
- Completion of regulatory compliance education and orientation modules prior to start
- Unit-specific competency exams including medication, dysrhythmia/EKG, and oncology (if applicable)
- Skills checklist required within 1 year of start
References & Evaluations
- Two professional references required (supervisors preferred)
- Performance evaluations may be requested after initial assignment
