Registered Nurse (RN) - MS/Tele Unit
Location: Rochester, New York
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Schedule & Work Details
- Shift Hours: 7 PM - 7 AM
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday Requirement: Must be available to work every other holiday, if needed
- Floating: Required to float within skillset
- RN's within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted (locals accepted for LPNs)
- Accepts first-time travelers
Licensing & Certifications
- Active New York Single State RN license required (NY is not Compact)
- Charge experience is required
- BLS certification required (AHA Provider/Instructor/RQI accepted)
- ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM, NIH Stroke Certification as required by unit
- State License primary source verification within 30 days of start
- NURSYS verification within 30 days of start
Required Clinical Skills
- Cardiac monitoring and emergency response (dysrhythmia interpretation/management, Rapid Response/Code team activation)
- IV therapy/phlebotomy (peripheral line care/management)
- Nasal cannula, oxygen administration/tanks, non-invasive airway management
- Isolation precautions
Unit Details
- Patient Ratios: 1:5 to 1:7
- Must have worked in acute care within the past 6 months
- MS/Tele Unit assignment given at time of offer
- Scrub Color: Navy blue and white combination
Experience Requirements
- Specialty: Registered Nurse
- Required Years of Experience: Not explicitly stated beyond charge experience required; acute care experience within past 6 months mandatory
- Prior travel experience: Not required (accepts first-time travelers)
Health & Compliance Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Fit mask test within 1 year, updated annually (specific mask types accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year; TB questionnaire accepted in lieu of annual renewal
- Immunizations/vaccinations required or proof of immunity:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- Drug screening within 30 days of start
- Flu vaccination or signed declination during flu season
- Eye exam (Snellen) within 1 year of start
- COVID vaccination copy preferred but not required
Background & Verification
- 7-year criminal background check required within 3 months of start
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 3 months of start and run monthly
- Education verification from primary source required
- Foreign equivalency evaluation required if education obtained internationally
- Employment verification of at least 2 past employments required
- References required for Aya candidates only
Additional Notes
- Must submit scheduling requests upon application
- Client may cancel up to three shifts during the 13-week contract without charge
- Candidates must complete health-related requirements and lab work within 5 days of signing contract
