ICU RN - 3N MICU

Location: Marshfield, Wisconsin
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Details

• Unit: 3N MICU
• Beds: 16
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:2, 1:1 for higher acuity patients
• Common Patient Diagnoses: Respiratory, Stroke, Neurological, GI, Cardiac, etc.
• Respiratory Therapist available 24/7 with full range of equipment (Vents, BiPAP/CPAP, vapotherm, trachs, nitric)
• Two pulmonologists with resident teams during the day; one team at night
• Tele/Monitor Techs present; RNs read and interpret their own cardiac rhythms

Required Certifications

• ACLS (AHA)
• BLS (AHA)
• NIHSS

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years ICU experience
• Prior travel experience required: at least 1 year travel experience or completion of at least 1 prior travel contract

Job Responsibilities & Skills

• RNs required to titrate many drips including all ICU drips, propofol, precedex, vasopressors, etc.
• No charge nurse assignment duties
• Nurse aides support the unit (1 aide per unit)
• Proficiency in cardiac rhythm strip interpretation required

Scheduling & Work Hours

• Shifts: 0700-1930 and 1900-0730 (12-hour shifts)
• Self-scheduling allowed but with lower priority for shift selection
• Weekend requirement: every other or every third weekend depending on schedule needs
• Holiday requirement: every other holiday or more if willing
• No call or standby requirement
• Floating: Agency staff float first to like units or as patient observers within hospital

Orientation & Other Information

• Orientation: 1 day hospital orientation + 2 days unit-specific orientation
• Dress code: No specific scrub color required; clean and professional attire expected
• Clinicians must clock in and out at the facility
• Previous employment with the facility requires a minimum 6-month gap before rehire

This position is ideal for experienced ICU RNs with prior travel experience looking for a 13-week contract in a busy MICU setting with diverse patient populations and advanced respiratory support.
