Description
Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Tech / XRT with RCIS
Location: Towson, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
- Shift: Days, 4x10 hour shifts (06:30 AM - 5:00 PM)
- Hours: 40 hours per week
- On-call: Required (up to 10 weekdays and 3 weekends per contract)
- Weekends: Required as needed
- Holidays: Required as scheduled
- Unit: 2 Cath Labs, 1 Hybrid OR
- Patient Population: Adult and Geriatric
- Procedures: IABP, Rotablator, Shockwave, Structural, PFO, TAVR, MitraClip, Watchman
- Equipment/Documentation: GE Innova IGS, Phillips, GE MacLab, EPIC, IVUS, FFR
Experience Requirements
- Years of Specialty Experience: Minimum 2 years with recent Cath Lab/Interventional scrubbing experience
- Prior Travel Experience: Not required; first-time travelers accepted
Licenses & Certifications Required
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- ARRT-R and/or RCIS certification
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- I9 or Attestation
- Government Issued Photo ID
- E-Verify or Attestation
- Background Check (7-year criminal search within 30 days of start, updated annually)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start
- HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start
- Education Verification for highest level of education
- Maryland State Exclusions List check within 30 days of start
- Facility-specific documents including confidentiality agreements, badge photo, and respiratory protection questionnaire
- Physical Exam within 1 year of start (including Latex Screen)
- Fit Mask Test within 1 year of start (specific mask types required)
- Immunizations and Titers:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (required for certain units)
- Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray (updated annually)
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (positive titer or vaccination proof)
- Hepatitis B (positive titer or declination; series not accepted)
- Seasonal Flu Vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
- COVID vaccine not required but exemptions accepted if required by location
- Drug Testing: Negative 9 or 10 panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start (instant tests not accepted)
Competency Exams (as applicable)
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
- Color Blind Testing
- Competency Exam relevant to profession/specialty
- Age Specific Competency Exam
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam
References & Work History
- Two supervisory references required within 1 year of start (one must be a supervisor/manager, one can be a charge RN if directly supervised)
- Employment history verification for previous 5-7 years required (attestation accepted if necessary)
- Agency application/resume must be completed within 30 days of start
Additional Notes
- Local travel accepted at a reduced rate
- Candidate must be prepared for on-call responsibilities including nights and weekends
- Facility uses EPIC for documentation and requires Epic training or test-out form completion if applicable
This position is ideal for Cath Lab Techs or XRTs with RCIS certification looking for a 13-week travel contract in Maryland with a reputable healthcare system.
