Description

Registered Nurse - Emergency Department (Travel/Contract)

Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Shift: Night Shift (7:00pm - 7:30am)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 18 months of recent Emergency Department (ED) experience.
  • Minimum 18 months of permanent experience in the specialty prior to travel.
  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.

Licensure & Certifications

  • Must have a permanent Ohio nursing license or compact state license at time of submission.
  • Required certifications (must be current at time of submission):
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) preferred but not required.

Work Requirements

  • Must work at least every other holiday.
  • ECG rhythm recognition test and SafeMedicate pass required during orientation.

Onboarding & Compliance

  • Background checks required prior to start and must be updated annually.
  • FBI and BCI fingerprinting required within 12 months of start and updated annually. Fingerprinting must be completed within 48 hours of signed contract.
  • Physical exam required within 1 year of start, including Snellen eye exam.
  • Fit mask (N95) fit testing required within 12 months of start and updated annually.
  • Immunizations and health requirements include:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (every 10 years)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccinations or positive titers
    • Hepatitis B titer, series, or declination
    • Varicella vaccinations or positive titer
    • Annual flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption
  • Drug screening (10-panel) within 12 months, updated annually.

Documentation & Training

  • Must complete all required onboarding modules prior to start (completed on a computer using Google Chrome).
  • Pass/fail ECG and medication dosing testing completed onsite during orientation.
  • Unit-specific competency exam required within 12 months of start and updated annually.
  • References: Two professional references from within one year of start, from a manager or supervisor (co-worker references not accepted).
  • Employment application must include 3 years prior work history, with at least 2 years clinical practice in an acute care setting similar to the assignment.
  • Skills checklist required annually.

Additional Notes

  • Candidates can start with fingerprinting results pending if fingerprinting is completed prior to start.
  • Modules and onboarding process may take multiple days; candidates should prioritize completion.
  • Candidates returning to the facility with less than a 6-month gap may have some onboarding requirements waived.
  • Candidates must carry a government-issued photo ID while on assignment.

This position is ideal for experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurses with strong acute care backgrounds and current Ohio licensure, seeking a 13-week travel contract on the night shift.
