Position Details

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of cath lab experience
• Must have IABP (Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump) experience
• Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required

Job Description / Duties

• Verify orders and consent forms
• Perform head-to-toe patient assessments
• Provide patient education
• Set up procedure rooms and circulate cases
• Administer moderate sedation and assist anesthesia providers
• Continuous monitoring of hemodynamics
• Documentation and coordination with the healthcare team

Typical Caseload & Procedures

• Average 20+ cases per day across 7 rooms (4 Cath Lab/EP & 3 IR)
• Common procedures include:

  • Port placements
  • Liver biopsy
  • IVC placements
  • G-tube placements
  • PICC & Central line placements
  • Neuro procedures (coiling, thrombectomy, embolizations) with anesthesia support

Work Schedule & Call

• 4 ten-hour shifts per week (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM) plus call
• Option to consider 5 eight-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM)
• Rotating day off
• Call rotation approximately once every 3 weekdays and once every 3 weekends (Fri-Mon)
• Holiday call may be required
• Call response time: 30 minutes
• No floating requirements

Staffing & Team

• IR team: 1 RN, 2 Techs, anesthesia supports neuro cases
• STEMI team includes 1 RN and 3 Techs
• Cath Lab daily staffing: 1 RN, 3 Techs
• EP team varies, 3-4 person team

Orientation & Training

• 2-3 full days of orientation and shadowing
• Buddy call during second week of assignment
• No call during first week

Additional Information

• EMR systems used: Merge, Cerner
• Scrubs provided; personal scrub caps allowed
• Clinicians must clock in/out at the facility
• Previous employment with the facility requires a minimum 6-month gap before rehire
