Diagnostic Imaging Technologist (Radiologic Technologist) - Contract

Position Summary

The Radiologic Technologist (RT) performs a variety of radiographic procedures including general diagnostic, portable, bedside, and Computed Tomography (CT) exams. The role requires technical skill to obtain high-quality images while minimizing radiation exposure to patients and staff.

Work Schedule

• Monday through Thursday
• 08:30 AM to 07:00 PM

Responsibilities

• Perform radiographic exams following requisitions and exam guidelines.
• Use anatomical knowledge for proper patient positioning to optimize image quality.
• Communicate effectively with patients to obtain relevant history and explain procedures.
• Assess patient condition to determine the best exam method.
• Operate radiographic, portable, C-Arm, and CT equipment safely and according to protocols.
• Use sterile techniques when handling contrast media and related equipment.
• Inspect and prepare contrast media according to CT protocols.
• Ensure radiation safety by using protective devices and monitoring devices at all times.
• Review images for quality and positioning; repeat views as necessary.
• Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA.
• Report equipment malfunctions promptly.
• Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare team to ensure appropriate procedures and patient care.
• Participate in professional communication, teamwork, and problem-solving within the department.
• Attend required staff meetings, in-services, and continuing education.
• Support performance improvement initiatives and maintain required competencies.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an Accredited Radiologic Technology Program.
• Minimum of 3 years imaging experience, with CT experience required.
• Current Washington State Department of Health Certified Radiologic Technologist license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
• Registered Technologist (ARRT).
