Diagnostic Imaging Technologist (Radiologic Technologist) - Contract Position
Location: Davenport, Washington
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Perform a variety of radiographic procedures including general diagnostic, portable, bedside, and Computed Tomography (CT) exams. Use radiologic skills and sound judgment to obtain high-quality images while minimizing radiation exposure to patients and staff.
Work Schedule
- Monday and Friday: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- Saturday and Sunday: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
- 40 hours per week
Responsibilities
- Review requisitions and exam guidelines to determine imaging requirements.
- Position patients properly using knowledge of anatomy to ensure optimal image quality.
- Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures and obtain relevant history.
- Assess patient condition and adapt exam methods accordingly.
- Operate radiographic and CT equipment, including portable and C-Arm units.
- Follow sterile techniques and safety protocols, including radiation safety (ALARA).
- Prepare and administer contrast media according to protocols.
- Review images for quality and positioning; repeat views as necessary.
- Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA.
- Report equipment malfunctions promptly.
- Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare team members to ensure appropriate imaging procedures.
- Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Completion of an Accredited Radiologic Technology Program.
- Minimum 3 years of imaging experience, including CT experience required.
- Current Washington State Department of Health Certified Radiologic Technologist license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
- ARRT (R) registration.
