Description

Registered Nurse (MS/Tele RN) - Rochester, NY

Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Start Date: January 20, 2026
Shift: 3x12 hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Location Requirement: Must live more than 75 miles from the facility (no locals accepted)


Specialty & Experience Requirements

  • Specialty: Medical-Surgical / Telemetry Registered Nurse (MS/TELE RN)
  • Must have a New York RN license in hand (no exceptions)
  • Must have worked in an acute care setting within the past 6 months
  • Must be able to manage a patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7 on MedSurg
  • No first-time US travel assignments (prior travel experience required)
  • Must be proficient in EPIC electronic health record system
  • Cannot have Return to Office (RTO) obligations for Labor Day

Required Certifications (as applicable by unit)

  • ACLS (AHA Provider/Instructor/RQI accepted)
  • BLS (AHA Provider/Instructor/RQI accepted)
  • PALS (as required)
  • NRP (as required)
  • TNCC (as required)
  • EFM (as required)
  • NIH Stroke Certification (as required)
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
  • State License Verification (Primary Source Verification within 30 days of start)
  • NURSYS Verification (within 30 days of start)
  • Tech Certification Verification (if applicable within 30 days of start)

Required Background Checks & Verifications

  • 7-year criminal background check (including felony checks) within 3 months of start
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 3 months of start and monthly thereafter
  • HHS/OIG check within 3 months of start and monthly thereafter
  • Education verification from primary source (hard copies not accepted)
  • Foreign equivalency education evaluation if applicable
  • Transcript/Diploma if education verification is not on file
  • Employment verification of at least 2 past employments (job-related)
  • References (2 within 3 years) required for Aya candidates only

Health & Compliance Requirements (must be completed within 5 days of contract signing)

  • Physical exam (within 1 year, updated annually)
  • Fit mask test (within 1 year, updated annually)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 1 year) or TB questionnaire
  • Immunizations or titers for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (Surface AB positive titer, completed series or declination)
    • Varicella
  • Drug screening (within 30 days of start)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination (required during flu season)
  • Eye exam (Snellen, within 1 year)
  • COVID vaccination copy preferred but not required

Additional Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID required
  • Clear, passport-style photo for badge
  • Completion of facility-specific modules and attestations prior to start
  • Skills checklist required annually
  • Color blind testing required (one-time)
  • Competency exams as required by specialty/profession

State-Specific Requirements (New York)

  • NYS Nurse Aide Registry (if applicable) within 3 months of start for certain care areas
  • NYS Criminal Background Check Fingerprint Results (for specific units)
  • Disciplinary Action Search Results (for specific units)
  • Sex Offender Registry Search (within 30 days of start)
  • NY Medicaid Exclusion List check within 3 months of start and monthly thereafter

This position requires a highly experienced Registered Nurse with prior travel experience, acute care proficiency, and strong familiarity with EPIC. The role is night shift with a consistent weekend schedule and is located in a large tertiary care hospital setting.
