Travel RN Opportunity - Operating Room (Portland, Maine)
Position Overview
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room
- Employment Type: Travel
- Location: Portland, Maine
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
- Shift: 4x10 hour days or 4x12 hour days, occasional weekends and overnight trauma call
- Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed
- Weekend Requirement: 1 in 4 weekends, 12-hour shifts
- Call Requirement: One overnight trauma call (11pm-7am), scheduled per specialty team rules
Experience & Skills
- Minimum Required Specialty Experience: 2 years
- Required Skills: Level 1 trauma experience, head and neck procedures, airway management, general pediatric surgery, oral maxillofacial surgery (OMFS), facial trauma
- Preferred Skills: General surgery, GU/GYN, orthopedic trauma and joints, neurosurgery, ENT, pediatrics, plastics, dental, endovascular
- Experience Precepting New Tech Students and willingness to do so daily
- Must be flexible with changing procedures throughout the day to accommodate schedule flow
- Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required

- Equipment Used: Storz, Stryker, Olympus, Intuitive Robot (robotic surgery)
- EMR System: Epic
- Types of Procedures: Robotic ENT, cochlear implants, free flaps, DIEP flaps, facial and hand trauma, pediatric general cases, thoracic surgery

- CNOR certification preferred

This role is ideal for an experienced OR RN with a strong background in trauma and specialty surgeries, who enjoys a fast-paced, dynamic environment and is comfortable with a variety of complex surgical procedures.
