Description
Job Opportunity: CT Technologist
Location: Akron, Ohio
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Operate Computerized Tomography (CT) and Radiologic equipment to produce diagnostic CT scans and radiographs under indirect supervision.
- Ensure timely processing of patient records and procedure results.
- Evaluate images with Radiologist and take additional images as needed.
- Assist with invasive procedures as required.
- Perform other duties as training and skills allow.
Minimum Qualifications
Education & Licensure
- Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology.
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Licensed as a Radiographer by the State of Ohio.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of Radiology Technology experience preferred (defaulting to higher requirement).
- CT Registry certification preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Manual dexterity to calibrate and operate equipment, position patients, apply restraining devices, and administer intravenous contrast injections.
- Effective verbal communication with patients, physicians, and hospital staff.
- Ability to lift and position patients.
- Ability to perform other radiology procedures after training.
- Computer proficiency for managing patient records.
- CPR certification and ability to initiate CPR.
- Ability to interact respectfully and effectively with diverse patient populations.
Physical Demands
- Heavy physical demands: occasionally exert 50-100 pounds of force, frequently 25-50 pounds, and continuously 10-20 pounds to move objects.
Certifications & Requirements
Required Certifications for Submission
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA only (AHA RQI acceptable)
- ARRT Certification
- License/Certificate Verification (state-specific registry)
- Resume including 3 years prior work history with at least 2 years clinical practice in acute care in a similar specialty
Required for Onboarding
- Fit Test (N95 mask, updated annually)
- Health Statement (pre-employment physical within 1 year confirming ability to perform essential job functions)
- Unit-specific competency exam and skills checklist (updated annually)
- Core competencies training (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics)
- Immunizations and health screenings:
- MMR (titer or 2 adult vaccines, no declinations)
- Hepatitis B (titer or complete vaccine series, signed declinations accepted)
- Influenza vaccine (required October-April, exemptions require approval)
- 2 Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) with specific timing requirements, no declinations accepted
- Varicella (titer or 2 adult vaccines, no declinations)
- Annual TB questionnaire (Summa form)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start, updated annually
- Criminal background check (FCRA compliant 7-year search plus additional checks) within 90 days of start
- OIG, EPLS, and Education verifications within 90 days of start
- Social Security Card or SCC
Optional
- COVID-19 vaccine (fully vaccinated required prior to start; medical or religious exemptions considered)
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
- Positive PPD with negative chest X-ray documentation if applicable
