Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Room

Location: Lees Summit, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room (ER)
  • Required Experience: Minimum 2 years of RN experience
  • First-timers: Not accepted (prior travel experience implied)
  • Weekend Requirement: Yes, every third weekend or 8 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule (combination of Friday/Saturday/Sunday)
  • On-call: Not required
  • Floating: Yes, may float within scope to all Metro EDs and between departments, units, and facilities as needed
  • Holiday Shifts & Charge RN: May be required as needed
  • Locals Accepted: No (home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility)
  • Pending License: Not accepted
  • Return to Office Restrictions: No more than 7 days
  • Guaranteed Hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination
    • Hepatitis B declination required (not vaccination)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
  • Competency exams including medication/pharmacology, dysrhythmia/EKG, and unit-specific competency exams (updated annually)
  • Skills checklist within 1 year of start (oncology skills checklist if applicable)
  • References: Two professional references required (supervisors preferred)

Additional Notes

  • No block scheduling accommodation
  • Must adhere to facility policies including dress code, hand hygiene, fingernail, and latex allergy policies
  • Badge photo required (head and shoulders, white background, no obstructions)
  • Orientation and regulatory compliance education modules required prior to start
  • Floating and shift flexibility expected within the healthcare system

This position is ideal for experienced ER Registered Nurses with at least 2 years of experience who are comfortable working in a fast-paced emergency department setting with pediatric and adult patients, and who meet the certification and compliance requirements listed above. Prior travel experience is required as first-time travelers are not accepted.
