Job Opportunity: RN Critical Care (Travel)

Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Unit: 19-bed Neurosurgical ICU


Job Description

  • Care for acute stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), seizures, and post-surgical patients.
  • Patients require invasive intracranial pressure monitoring, frequent neurological assessments, hemodynamic monitoring, and routine CT, MRI, and Angiography.
  • Patient assignment ratio: 2-3:1.
  • May need to float to other ICUs or Step-down units.

Required Experience

  • Specialty: RN Critical Care

  • UHS Competency Exam (minimum 80% score, completed within 1 year prior to start)
  • UHS Core Competencies (including HIPAA, Joint Commission-NPSG, OSHA topics; 80% passing score)
  • Physical/Health Statement (pre-employment physical exam within 1 year, must state ability to work without restrictions)
  • Influenza Vaccine (required October-March; declination requires mask and specific forms)
  • 2-Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) test within last 6 months (annual requirement)
  • MMR (positive titers within last 15 years or approved booster protocol)
  • Varicella (positive titers within last 15 years or approved booster protocol)
  • Hepatitis B (proof of full series, partial series, or signed declination)
  • Tdap vaccination within last 10 years (no declinations accepted)
  • Fit Test (completed within 1 year prior to start)
  • UHS Drug Screen (10-panel, completed within 60 days prior to start)
  • UHS Criminal Background Check (within 6 months prior to start)
  • UHS OIG Search (within 6 months prior to start)
  • UHS SAM/EPLS/GSA/OFAC Screening (within 6 months prior to start)
  • UHS Module Completion Certificate (non-employee safety and compliance training, renewal annually)
  • UHS Badge Photo (professional headshot)

Additional Requirements

  • Resume including education and work history
  • Two professional references within last 2 years
  • Job application and employment history form (specific to the hospital system)
  • Skills checklist and competency exams specific to clinical role (completed within 1 year prior to start)
  • Background checks and verifications must be third-party verified; attestations not accepted except for fingerprinting pending results with proper documentation.
  • Temporary licenses are NOT accepted; must have a valid permanent RN license.
