Job Opportunity: CT Technologist (Travel)

Location: Woodstock, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Summary

Perform computed tomography (CT) and general radiology (x-rays), including portable procedures, to produce quality images for patients of all ages (neonates through geriatric). Work in a 25-bed Critical Access hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT and x-ray procedures according to protocol using optimal techniques.
• Prepare equipment, position patients, and monitor patient condition before, during, and after scanning.
• Modify positioning, slice thickness, and administer intravenous contrast as needed.
• Explain procedures and gather patient history, including contrast history.
• Perform contrast injections as ordered by physicians.
• Report critical findings to appropriate personnel and assist physicians with invasive procedures.
• Enter data accurately into hospital information systems and use RIS for patient visit and charge capture.
• Adhere to radiation safety measures and infection control policies.
• Assist with patient transportation as needed.
• Communicate with management regarding departmental productivity or performance improvements.
• Participate in continuing education to maintain competence.

Qualifications

• Completion of an AMA-accredited Radiology Technology program.
• Minimum 3 years clinical experience as a CT technologist in a hospital setting (preferred).
• Knowledge of human growth and development, cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, and medical terminology.
• Ability to perform general and portable diagnostic radiography on patients of all ages.
• Strong communication skills to interact professionally with physicians, peers, and patients.
• Ability to maintain accuracy in positioning and exposure techniques.
• Ability to work in a stressful environment and operate CT and X-ray equipment with attention to detail.
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays, including every weekend on a Fri-Sun 7am-7:30pm (3x12 hour shifts) schedule.
• Required certifications/licenses: BLS (AHA only), ARRT, and Virginia state license.
