Travel RN Opportunity – Emergency Department, Asheville, NC
Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
- Location: Asheville, North Carolina
- Employment Type: Travel
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Information
- Department: Emergency Department (ED)
- Unit Size: 101 beds
- Patient Ratios:
- Typically 4:1 for medical patients
- Up to 7:1 for behavioral holds in the ED
- Staffing:
- Techs available
- Cardiac monitoring unit and internal processing area support
- Triage and unit clerks on day and night shifts
- Equipment: Baxter pumps, GE monitors
- Documentation System: Cerner
- Scheduling:
- Every other weekend required
- No block scheduling commitment; schedule must meet department needs
- Floating Policy:
- No floating outside the ED
- Must be flexible to float within all sections of the ED
Certifications Required (Must have before start date)
- ACLS
- BLS
- PALS
- TNCC
- CPI
- NIHSS
- ENPC (within 90 days of hire)
Experience & Skills
- Minimum 2 years nursing experience in a Level 2 trauma center or comprehensive stroke center
- Experience in a high-volume ED (>100,000 visits annually)
- At least 1 year of ER nursing experience
- Previous experience with HCA Healthcare preferred
- Teamwork mentality with ability to coach and provide real-time feedback
- Flexibility to work across all ED areas
Dress Code
- Navy scrubs required
