    Travel RN - PCU Unit

    Location: Denver, Colorado


    Position Details

    • Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
    • Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
    • Employment Type: Travel
    • Contract Length: 13 weeks
    • Shift: 5 PM - 5 AM (Night Shift)
    • Patient Ratio: 1:4
    • Unit Beds: 20
    • Staffing:
      • Night Shift: 1 Charge RN, 5 Nurses, 2 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs)
    • EMR System: Meditech

    Unit Description

    • Fast-paced, challenging cardiac unit recognized as a cardiac center of excellence
    • High acuity patients
    • Equipment includes telemetry, transport monitors, suction, feeding pumps, trachs, BiPAP, CPAP, heated high flow, chest tubes, Foley catheters, pacer wires/pacemakers, IV pumps, and SCD pumps

    Required Qualifications

    • Licenses: Registered Nurse License
    • Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Certification
    • Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty (PCU and cardiac experience required)
    • Skills:
      • Experience with drips including heparin, tikosin, diltiazem, amiodarone, nitro, Lasix, ketamine
      • PCU and cardiac experience mandatory
    • Personality Fit: Great team player with high energy

    Typical Procedures Performed

    • Chest tube placement and removal
    • Removal of pacer wires
    • 12-lead EKGs

    Additional Notes

    • Candidates without the required skills will not be considered
    • Preferred candidates have prior PCU and cardiac experience
    • The unit values teamwork and energy due to its fast-paced environment
