    Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

    Job Requirements

    • Specialty: Registered Nurse

    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

    Additional Preferred Certifications (may be required based on unit)

    • Chemotherapy Certification
    • Electronic Fetal Monitoring (AWHONN or NCC-EFM)
    • IV Certification (for LVN/LPN/Other)
    • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB)
    • NIH Stroke Certification
    • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)

    Compliance and Documentation Requirements

    • Background Check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
    • Education Verification (nursing degree verification required)
    • State License and NURSYS Verification (for RNs)
    • Drug Testing: 10 Panel Drug Screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
    • Physical Exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
    • Immunizations and Health Documents:
      • TDAP (within 10 years or declination accepted)
      • Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray within 12 months (annual updates required)
      • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
      • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
      • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
      • Flu Vaccine during flu season or declination
      • COVID Vaccine or declination
    • Respirator Safety Clearance (RespSafety) for travel candidates, updated annually
    • Fit Mask Testing (N95 or equivalent), updated annually (not required for Sterile Processing Techs)

    Orientation and Training

    • Completion of Providence-specific WorkRamp modules prior to start, including:
      • Core Modules for RN/LVN in California
      • Specialty-specific modules depending on unit (e.g., L&D, ICU, ER)
      • Annual Regulatory Requirements modules
    • Epic training modules required and must be completed after Providence access is granted
    • Medication and competency exams as applicable by specialty/unit
    • Color Blind Testing if required by unit

    Work Environment and Additional Notes

    • May be required to float to Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center San Pedro
    • Free parking available
    • Scrub color: Any
    • Guaranteed hours with facility able to call off once per two-week pay period
    • RTO (Return to Office) restrictions must be included at time of submission

    References and Employment History

    • Minimum of 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment within last 3 years in comparable specialty/setting
    • Employment application covering at least last 5 years (7 years for APN/Subcontractors) with month/year format for dates worked
    • Skills checklist required annually for applicable units

    This position is ideal for a Registered Nurse with at least 3 years of experience, flexible availability for weekends, and the ability to float between mother-baby units. Candidates must hold current required certifications and meet Providence Health and Services compliance standards.
