• Licensure: California RN license in hand
• Certifications Required:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA certified
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA certified
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA certified (based on specialty)

Requirements & Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in Operating Room
• Current California RN license
• BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA required)
• PALS certification as applicable
• Must complete a Fire Card issued by an LAFD-approved instructor within 30 days of start date
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam required for all RNs
• Competency Exam as applicable by profession
• Background checks including 7-year search, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
• Transcript, diploma, or education verification required
• Physical exam clearance within the past year
• Fit mask test (3M Aura 9205+ or 3M1860s) required before start date
• Immunizations and health documentation required:

  • Tdap vaccine or declination
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
  • Hepatitis B series or positive titer
  • Varicella immunity (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
  • 9-panel drug screen within 1 year
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination (September - March)
  • COVID vaccination plus booster
• Color vision exam required for certain departments (may apply)
• Employment application and skills checklist required annually
• Assault Response Competency (ARC) live training required within 30 days of start date
