Description
Job Opportunity: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics (Travel/Contract)
Location: Akron, Ohio
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Position Details
- Schedule: 3 shifts of 12 hours (1900-0730)
- Must be a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an RRT required
- Must hold current NBRC certification and BLS certification
- Ohio Respiratory Therapist license must be in hand at time of application
- May float to other facilities within the system as needed
Required Certifications
- NBRC (CRT or RRT)
- BLS (AHA preferred, RQI acceptable but non-RQI preferred)
- ACLS (AHA only; required for RRT and Emergency Department roles)
- PALS and NRP (required only for RRT-NICU/Pediatric roles)
- State Respiratory Therapist License (Ohio RRT license required)
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an RRT
- No explicit prior travel experience required
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Valid government-issued photo ID required on assignment
- Criminal background check (FCRA compliant 7-year search) required prior to start; must be updated if break in service exceeds 2 months
- Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
- Transcript/Diploma verification required
- FBI and BCI fingerprinting required within 12 months of start; must be completed ASAP as processing can take up to 30 days; fingerprints may not be pending at start
- Unit-specific competency exam required within 12 months of start; must be updated annually
- HIPAA acknowledgment form required and must be updated annually
- Pre-employment physical exam within 1 year of start, confirming ability to safely perform job functions
- Fit mask test (N95 or equivalent) required within 12 months of start; must be updated annually; PAPRs not supplied by client
- Negative 2-step TB test or equivalent within 6 months of start; must be renewed annually; chest x-ray required if prior positive TB test
- Required immunizations or titers: Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start; updated annually; instant drug screens not accepted
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 31 - Mar 31); no declinations accepted
- Two recent satisfactory pre-employment references required
- Employment application must include 3 years of prior work history, including at least 2 years of clinical practice in an acute care setting in a similar specialty area
- Unit-specific skills checklist required; must be updated annually
Orientation and Onboarding
- Completion of online training modules (4-5 hours) required prior to start; must be completed on a computer using Chrome browser
- Modules include watching training videos before tests; skipping videos will lock out candidate
- TB results must be uploaded manually to advance through onboarding modules
- Badge pickup required prior to or on first day of assignment
- Fingerprinting onsite may be allowed on first day if agency results are pending, subject to facility approval
Additional Notes
- All work history, including previous work with the healthcare system, must be included in the application
- Requests for time off and scheduling must be communicated during submission and interview
- Candidates working with pediatric patients (RRT-NICU) have additional fingerprinting and certification requirements
