Travel RN - SICU (San Antonio, TX)
Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU (SICU)
- Location: San Antonio, Texas
- Employment Type: Travel
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 7A-7:30P / 7P-7:30A (Rotating weekends)
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
- Call Requirements: None
Unit Information
- Unit: Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU)
- Documentation System: Meditech
- Procedures Performed: Chest tubes, tracheostomies, GI scopes, intubations, central lines, arterial lines, NG tubes, Foley catheters, dressing changes
- Floating: All travelers are required to float per hospital policy
Required Qualifications
- Licensure: Active Texas RN License (Temporary licenses NOT accepted)
- Experience: Minimum 2-3 years ICU experience (higher value between 1 and 2 years applies)
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Certification
- Skills: Strong critical thinking skills
Preferred Skills
- MICU & MSICU background
- IABP exposure
- CRRT exposure
- Experience with Meditech documentation system
Dress Code & Appearance
- Navy scrub top and pants; navy or white scrub jacket for RNs
- Clean and healthy nails
- Neat, clean hair with no extreme styles or colors
- Beards, mustaches, and sideburns must be clean and neatly trimmed
- Tattoos should be covered whenever possible; uncovered body art addressed individually
- Visible piercings other than ears are prohibited
Additional Notes
- Punctuality is strictly enforced (clock-in by 6:38 am/pm; after 6:45 considered tardy)
- Badging in and out for shifts is required
- Full 30-minute lunch break mandatory
