Travel RN - Cath Lab

Location: Fort Mohave, Arizona
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Facility Overview

• Acute-care hospital with 85 beds in Cath Lab unit
• Adult and Geriatric patient population
• State-of-the-art equipment including GE, MacLab, ACIST IVUS, ACIST FFR, Maquette Balloon Pumps, Medtronic Temporary Pacemakers, Zoll Defibrillators, Abbott and Medtronic Cardiac Interrogators
• EHR systems: MacLab and MedHost
• Patient ratio: 1:1

Position Details

• Specialty: Cath Lab RN
• Number of Openings: 2
• Shift: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM, with expectation of call (currently 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM, expanding)
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
• Weekend Hours: Only if STEMI call
• Call Requirements: Evolving program, currently limited call hours
• Float Requirements: May assist in PACU (patient moving and discharge) and PreOp (IV starts, EKGs, other duties)

Required Qualifications

• RN license (compact or Arizona state)
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS (PALS not required)
• Minimum 4 years of Cath Lab RN experience (higher of 2 and 4 years required)
• Balloon pump proficiency (initiation, manipulation, transfer)
• Ability to perform EKGs independently
• Experience in circulating and control room roles as RN
• Knowledge and experience with:

  • IVUS and FFR (or eagerness to learn)
  • Temporary pacemaker initiation and management
  • Vasoactive drips
  • Moderate sedation competency
  • Airway management
  • Patient safety and emergency escalation protocols
• Strong communication skills and comfort with technology (computer, MacLab, Omnicell, cell phone apps)

Preferred Qualifications

• 4+ years cath lab circulating/controller experience including TEEs, L/RHC, pacemaker insertion/change out
• Critical care background preferred
• Experience with balloon pumps, temporary pacemakers, Zoll defibrillators
