Travel RN Opportunity - ICU (COVID Unit)

Location: San Antonio, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit & Work Details

• Unit: 2 South ICU (COVID ICU)
• Beds: 14
• Patient Ratio: 1:2
• Shift: 7A-7:30P or 7P-7:30A
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, every other weekend, rotating weekends
• Call: No call requirements
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
• Floating: Required as needed (candidates will be informed of floating policy during interview)

Required Qualifications

• License: Active Texas RN License only (temporary licenses not accepted)
• Experience: Minimum 2 years ICU experience (higher of 1 or 2 years required)
• Certifications:

  • ACLS
  • BLS
  • NIH Certification
• Skills:

  • Comfortable managing vasoactive drips
  • Strong understanding of hemodynamics
• Patient Experience: ICU experience with COVID patients

Preferred Skills

• Experience with ECMO (VV ECMO)
• Experience with CRRT (NxtStg)
• Familiarity with Meditech documentation system

Procedures Performed on Unit

• ECMO
• CRRT
• Chest tube insertions
• Central line insertions

Unit Environment & Culture

• High acuity COVID ICU with advanced interventions such as VV ECMO
• Staff with strong tenure and experience
• Faith-based, patient-focused care philosophy
• Dress Code:

  • Navy scrub top and pants, navy or white scrub jacket
  • Clean, healthy nails
  • Neat, clean hair with no extreme styles or colors
  • Tattoos should be covered when possible
  • Visible piercings other than ears are prohibited

Additional Notes

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this role.
• Floating is mandatory as part of the assignment.
