    Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

    Location: Jackson, California
    Contract Length: 13 weeks


    Position Summary

    Seeking a Registered Nurse with at least 2 years of experience to join a healthcare facility in California on a travel/contract basis.


    Requirements

    Licensure & Certifications

    • Valid California RN license
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA or ARC)
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification (AHA or ARC)

    Experience

    • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required

    Background Checks & Verifications

    • 7-year background check required within 6 months of start, including:
      • Social Security trace with all aliases
      • County searches for last 7 years of locations lived/worked/schooled
      • Nationwide sex offender search within 90 days of start
      • Education verification (highest level achieved)
      • FACIS Level 3 screening within 2 weeks of start and monthly thereafter
      • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks, updated annually
      • Motor Vehicle Report if applicable (for driving positions)
    • Transcript/Diploma verification as needed
    • State-specific Medi-Cal Suspended and Ineligible Provider List search if FACIS III cannot be run

    Health & Immunization Requirements

    • Physical exam within 1 year of start (must indicate cleared for work)
    • Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually (specific mask types accepted)
    • Adult Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination within 10 years or lifetime TDAP with booster
    • Negative TB test (QGold, TSPOT, or PPD) within 90 days of start, renewed annually
    • Immunity or vaccination for:
      • Rubeola (Measles)
      • Mumps
      • Rubella
      • Hepatitis B (series or signed declination)
      • Varicella
    • Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids per CA law)
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination during flu season (Nov 1 - Apr 30)

    Competency Exams & Skills

    • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable
    • Unit-specific competency exams (e.g., Telemetry for ICU nurses)
    • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam may be required for some units

    Documentation & Compliance

    • Full 7 years of work history with no gaps in employment
    • Employment verification for up to 7 years, with explanations for gaps over 30 days
    • References: 2 professional references for clinical/allied/per diem acute care; 1 for per diem non-acute care
    • Candidate must review and sign facility-specific documents including:

      • Code of Conduct
      • Vendor Training
      • Overpayment Refund Policy
      • Regulatory Orientation
      • Conditional Offer of Employment Attestation
      • TB Questionnaire
