Job Summary: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics - Travel/Contract

Location: Columbus, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: 3x12-Hour Night Shifts (Weekends required)
Floating: May be required between campuses
Patient Ratio: Not applicable
Equipment: GE Ventilators


Experience Requirements

  • Specialty: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics
  • Years of Experience: Not explicitly stated; default to typical travel RRT experience (minimum 1+ years recommended)
  • Prior Travel Experience: Preferred (previous travel experience is preferred but not strictly required)

Certifications & Licenses

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification preferred
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA only (Instructor/Provider and RQI acceptable)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - AHA only (Instructor/Provider and RQI acceptable)
  • Other certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., PALS, NRP, EFM)
  • State License verification required within 30 days of start
  • National certification verification required within 30 days of start (if applicable)

Background & Compliance Requirements

  • 7-Year Criminal Background Check within 90 days of start (including SS Trace, Counties lived/worked, Nationwide, Sex Offender, MVR if driving)
  • FBI and BCI fingerprinting required prior to start (Ohio-specific code 3701.881)
  • Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG monitoring
  • Education accreditation confirmation required immediately after contract signing
  • Pending background check attestation required if fingerprint results are pending
  • Facility-specific compliance forms and policies must be reviewed and signed annually

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
  • Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSPOT) within 1 year or chest x-ray if positive
  • TB questionnaire required in lieu of annual TB test renewal
  • Immunizations required:
    • Tdap (adult dose after age 11/12)
    • 2 MMR vaccines or positive titers for Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella
    • Hepatitis B titer or 3-vaccine series (declination acceptable)
    • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer (medical exemption possible)
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (no pending drug screens allowed)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or declination required during flu season (10/1 - 3/31)
  • COVID-19 vaccination not required but strongly recommended

Additional Requirements

  • 2 professional references required (at least 1 from a manager/director or formal leadership)
  • Employment application and skills checklist required
  • Unit-specific competency exams required, including Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam for RNs (updated annually)
  • Orientation Safety Manual acknowledgment required annually

Work Environment & Notes

  • No Return to Office (RTO) between 2/15/26 and 2/28/26
  • Floating between campuses may be required
  • Facility dress code and hand hygiene policies must be reviewed and signed
  • Fraud, Waste, and Abuse training certificate required prior to start and updated annually

This position is ideal for respiratory therapists with travel experience who are comfortable working night shifts and weekends in a dynamic hospital environment with multiple campuses.
