    Job Details

    • Employment Type: Travel/Contract
    • Contract Length: 13 weeks
    • Shift: PM shift (weekend flexibility required)
    • Floating: Required to float between like units, specifically to mother-baby units and possibly to another nearby facility
    • Local Radius: 50 miles
    • Start Date: ASAP
    • Weekend Requirement: Depends on length of contract
    • Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off once per two-week pay period
    • Scrub Color: Any color allowed

    Experience & Requirements

    • Specialty: Registered Nurse
    • Years of Experience Required: 3 years
    • First-time Travelers: Accepted
    • Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
    • Precepting Skills: Preferred

    • Block Scheduling: At manager’s discretion

    Compliance & Documentation Requirements

    Background Checks

    • Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
    • Must include: SSN Trace, Death Master Index, Counties, Nationwide, National Sex Offender, FACIS Level 3, Education Verification, MVR (if Home Health), and others as applicable
    • Annual updates required
    • Special state-specific searches for Washington and Oregon if applicable

    Health Documents

    • Physical Exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
    • Fit Mask test (annual, travel only)
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination
    • Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray within 12 months, updated annually
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer with declination option
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer with declination option
    • 10 Panel Drug Screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
    • Seasonal Flu Vaccine or declination during flu season
    • COVID vaccine or declination

    Competencies & Skills

    • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
    • Unit-specific Skills Checklist (updated annually)
    • Color Blind Testing (if required by unit)
    • Competency Exams related to specialty (e.g., Fetal Heart Rate Monitoring Assessment for L&D RNs)

    Facility Specific Requirements

    • Must complete Providence Health and Services WorkRamp Core and Specialty Modules prior to start
    • Epic training modules required (completion and transcript submission)
    • Photo for badge (passport style with neutral background)
    • Floating Policy Acknowledgement (may be required to float to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance)

    References & Employment History

    • Minimum of 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
    • Employment application covering at least last 5 years (7 years for APN/Subcontractors) with month/year format for dates
    • Clarification required for any gaps or overlaps in employment

    Additional Notes

    • Must be flexible to work weekends and float between units as needed
    • Precepting skills preferred but not mandatory
    • Local candidates within 50 miles accepted
    • No pending licenses accepted
    • Facility offers free parking
    • Scrub color is flexible

    This position is ideal for experienced Registered Nurses with at least 3 years in the specialty, who are flexible with scheduling and floating, and hold the required certifications. First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply.
