    Description

    Registered Nurse (ICU Float Pool) - West Hollywood, California

    Employment Type: Travel/Contract
    Contract Length: 13 weeks


    Job Overview

    • Position in ICU Float Pool with floating to Medical-Surgical (MS), Telemetry (Tele), Progressive Care Unit (PCU), Overflow PACU, Stepdown, and other related units as needed.
    • Shift: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM (36 or 48 hours available).
    • Must pass EKG exam on first day of orientation.
    • Large hospital experience required.
    • First-time travelers accepted with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
    • Cedars-Sinai is a comprehensive transplant center; preference for RNs with transplant patient exposure.

    Experience & Skills Required

    • Minimum 2 years ICU experience.
    • PA Line experience required (will be assessed during phone interview).
    • Skills:
      • Ventilator management
      • IV start
      • Intracranial Pressure (ICP) monitoring
      • Telemetry
      • Conscious sedation
      • PA Lines (hard stop - must have)

    Unit Details (ICU Float Pool)

    • 8SCCT (Neuro ICU)
    • 7SCCT (Respiratory failure, ventilator support, hemodynamic instability)
    • 6SCCT/4SCCT (Acute myocardial infarction with complications, hemodynamic instability)
    • 5SCCT (GU, GI bleeds, environmental injuries, shocks, massive transfusion)
    • Transplant float (Liver, Kidney, Pancreas, Heart/Lung)

    Adult ICU has 24 beds.


    Certifications Required

    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • NIH Stroke Certification

    Preferred Certifications & Skills

    • CCRN certification preferred
    • Level I Trauma experience preferred
    • Charge nurse experience preferred

    Orientation & Testing

    • EKG competency assessment (pass/fail) during orientation.
    • Medication test during orientation (not pass/fail).

    Health & Compliance Requirements

    • Flu vaccination required during flu season (Nov 1 - Apr 30). Documentation mandatory for candidates starting after Oct 13.
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start.
    • Drug screening panel required within 1 year of start (excluding Marijuana/THC).
    • Background check including 7-year criminal history, SSN trace, nationwide search, sex offender search, and others.
    • Education verification and highest medical degree proof required.
    • Photo for badge required (must meet strict guidelines).
    • References: 2 professional references required, including 1 supervisory.

    Additional Notes

    • Must submit Return to Office (RTO) documentation with submission.
    • Fire Card required if working at the facility for 6 months; course provided onsite during orientation.
    • Candidates must complete competency exams and medication tests as per Aya standards.
    • Attestation of prior radiation exposure required for certain units if applicable.

    This position offers a challenging ICU float pool role in a large, comprehensive transplant center with a focus on high acuity patient care and diverse ICU experiences.
