Position Details

- Patient Ratio: 7:1
Job Description / Responsibilities
- ACLS certified skills required
- Pushing, pulling, lifting patients and equipment
- Medication administration
- Patient assessments
- Care planning
- Effective communication and teamwork
Required Certifications & Training
- BLS (AHA American Heart Association)
- ACLS (AHA American Heart Association)
- 8 Hours of Stroke Training (includes NHISS training)
- Arnot Core Competency Exam: Must score 80% or higher on Core Comp I, II, and III for RNs
- Arnot Skills Checklist: Must be completed for the unit assigned and updated annually
Licenses & Verification
- State Nursing License: Verification required within 30 days prior to start
- Driver’s License or State ID: Valid, unexpired US driver’s license or ID required
Health & Immunization Requirements
- COVID-19 Vaccine: Optional; proof of vaccine or declination required
- MMR: Positive IgG titer or 2 vaccine series required; titers must show results for Measles, Mumps, and Rubella individually
- Fit Test: Must be completed within the last 12 months; specific approved mask models required
- Hepatitis B: Positive antibody titer, 3 vaccine series, or specific declination form required
- Influenza Vaccine: Required or specific declination form; mask must be worn if declined
- TB Test: Annual requirement; acceptable tests include 2 PPDs (one within 12 months, one within 3 months) or 1 Quant/Spot within 12 months; follow-up may be required for past positives
- Varicella: Positive IgG titer or 2 vaccine series required
- Tdap: Preferred but not required; within last 10 years or declination form
- Physical/Health Statement: Must be from within the last 12 months, including vitals, height, weight, Snellen eye chart, and physician’s statement of clearance with no restrictions
Background & Screening Requirements
- Agency Background Check: Must be run within 30 days of start; includes SSN address trace, county and national criminal checks, FACIS 3 check
- Agency Drug Screen: Must be run within 30 days of start; specific drug panel required (marijuana testing prohibited per NY state)
- 7 Instant Background Checks: Includes multiple federal and state exclusion and sanction lists
- Arnot Internal Background Check: Must be initiated upon acceptance with full disclosure of any charges or convictions
Documentation & Professional Requirements
- Resume: Complete employment and education history for last 7 years, with dates in MM/YY format
- Professional References: Two required (one supervisor within last 12 months, one supervisor or peer within last 3 years)
- Employment Verification: Verification of most recent employer required
- Job Description: Signed and dated acknowledgment required
- Color Headshot: Recent, professional photo required
- Arnot Health Personal Information Form, Code of Conduct, Sexual Harassment Acknowledgement, Parking Registration Form, Confirmation of Assignment Form, Self Study Packet and Quiz: Required documentation/forms to be completed as part of onboarding
