    Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Technologist

    Location: Santa Monica, California
    Employment Type: Travel/Contract
    Contract Length: 13 weeks


    Job Details

    • Schedule: Monday-Friday with rotating call coverage
      • Weekday call: 4 PM - 11 PM
      • Weekend/Holiday call: 7 AM - 11 PM
      • Weekend availability is required
    • Call Coverage: Rotational on weekends and holidays
    • Shift: Regular daytime shift with call starting immediately after shift ends until 11 PM
    • Ratios: 1:2
    • Start Date: ASAP
    • Prior Travel Experience: Not required (first-timers accepted)
    • Locals Accepted: Yes
    • Floating: May be required to float to other Providence facilities within a reasonable distance

    Required Qualifications

    • Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
    • Years of Experience: Minimum 1 year in specialty
    • Certifications:
      • BLS (Basic Life Support)
      • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
    • Skills: Must be able to perform lymphoscintigraphy studies, including injection of tracer
    • Licensing: Must have current state license; pending licenses are not accepted
    • On-Call Requirement: Yes, as detailed above

    Compliance & Documentation Requirements

    Certifications & Licenses

    • BLS and ARRT required
    • State professional license with CPDH certificate for RTs in California
    • ACLS, PALS, NRP, Chemotherapy, EFM, NIH Stroke, CPI, IV Certification, and other certifications as applicable (verify per clinical track)

    Background Checks & Verifications

    • Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
    • Education verification required for all candidates
    • State-specific searches as applicable (e.g., Washington WSP/WATCH, OBRA Registry for CNAs)
    • Drug screening: 10-panel within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
    • References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within last 3 years

    Health & Safety

    • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
    • Fit mask testing required (annual update)
    • Immunizations and titers:
      • TDAP (within 10 years or declination accepted)
      • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual update required)
      • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
      • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
      • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
      • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
      • COVID vaccine or declination

    Competency & Training

    • Medication/Pharmacology competency exams as applicable
    • Color blindness testing if required by unit
    • Skills checklists updated annually for applicable units
    • Providence WorkRamp modules (Core, Specialty, Regional, and Annual Regulatory) required prior to start and annually thereafter
    • Epic training modules required for access to electronic health records

    Additional Notes

    • Floating policy acknowledgment required
    • Must comply with Providence Health and Services policies and procedures
    • Must meet all facility-specific onboarding and compliance requirements
    • First-time travelers accepted; prior travel experience not mandatory

    This position offers an opportunity to work in a beachside acute care hospital with a supportive team and a structured call schedule. Candidates must be prepared for weekend availability and rotational call duties.
