Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (ED RN)
Location: Attleboro, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Emergency Department Registered Nurse
- Patient Ratios: 1:4-5
- Required Years of Experience: 2 years (higher value confirmed)
- First-Time Travelers: Accepted if they have 2-3 years of experience and Epic or Cerner experience
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- On-Call: Not required
- Floating: Not required to float outside scope
- Block Schedule: TBD by unit needs
- Locals: Candidates within 50 miles considered local
- Pending License: Not accepted; license must be valid at submission
Required Certifications
- Massachusetts State Nursing License
- ACLS (American Heart Association only)
- BLS (American Heart Association only)
- PALS (American Heart Association only)
Preferred:
- Cerner experience
- Community hospital experience
- 1:4-5 patient ratio experience
Work Hours
- 36 hours for 3 shifts of 12 hours
- 48 hours for 4 shifts of 12 hours
- 40 hours for shifts less than 12 hours (8 or 10-hour shifts)

Background and Compliance Requirements
- MA Statewide CORI background check required (completed prior to start)
- Standard background check within 1 year, including 7-year county searches, SS trace, nationwide, sex offender registry
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
- Massachusetts Nurse Aide Registry Search required for all travelers in MA
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year prior to start
- N95 fit test within last 6 months (specific approved masks)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap: Proof of one Tdap after age 18, then Td every 10 years
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray (2-step PPD or equivalent) with annual TB questionnaire for past positives
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Immune titer or 2 vaccines with 2 boosters if titers negative/equivocal; no declinations accepted
- Hepatitis B: Immune titer with numerical value or signed declination; 3 boosters required if negative/equivocal
- Varicella: Immune titer or 2 vaccines with 2 boosters if titers negative/equivocal; no declinations accepted
- Drug screen within 30 days prior to start (minimum 9-panel)
- Seasonal Flu Vaccine required annually (September - April); medical exemptions accepted with documentation, no declinations
- COVID-19 Vaccine required; exemptions only accepted with signed medical or religious documentation
Additional Requirements
- Badge photo (head and shoulders, plain background) required 2 weeks prior to start
- Compliance checklist, latex allergy questionnaire, personal information forms required prior to start
- Facility-specific COVID exemption forms required if applicable
- 2 professional references within 3 years required for travel/per diem acute care
Notes
- Prior travel experience is not required; first-time travelers with appropriate experience are considered
- Must have valid MA nursing license at time of submission
- No floating outside scope of practice
- Block scheduling subject to unit needs
This position is ideal for Emergency Department RNs with at least 2 years of experience, who hold required certifications, and are comfortable working in a community acute care hospital setting using Cerner charting.
