Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Lebanon, Pennsylvania
Facility: WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital


Job Details

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse
  • Employment Type: Travel/Contract
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Shift: Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
  • Weekends: Every other weekend (EOW) and as needed
  • Call Requirements: None
  • Holidays: Expected to work 2 of 3 major holidays; no time off allowed between Christmas and New Year's
  • Floating: Will float to all Medical-Surgical floors and potentially rehab
  • Patient Population: May care for COVID-19 patients
  • Facility Environment: Tobacco and fragrance-free

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years as a Registered Nurse
  • Certifications:
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) required
  • Electronic Medical Record: EPIC experience required
  • Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days

Screening & Interview Process

  • Clinical screening to determine fit and compliance with facility guidelines
  • Manager interview required

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

Background Checks

  • 7-year criminal background check (must be updated annually)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start
  • HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start
  • PA FBI Fingerprinting required within 1 year of start; must be on file within first 45 days of assignment
  • Pennsylvania State Police PATCH search (must be finalized prior to start)
  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search (must be completed within 5 years; results must be on file within first 45 days)

Certifications & Verifications

  • State nursing license primary source verification
  • NURSYS verification for RN license
  • Education verification of highest degree/diploma/transcripts
  • Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing (required for all RNs except OR and Home Health)
  • Medication, Dysrhythmia/EKG, and other competency exams as applicable

Health & Immunization Documents

  • Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NPT
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
  • Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot) within 90 days; PPD not accepted
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required; boosters required if titers negative or equivocal
  • Hepatitis B: Positive titer or full vaccine series (3 doses) plus declination form if applicable
  • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required; boosters required if titers negative or equivocal
  • Seasonal Flu vaccine required during flu season (medical/religious exemptions accepted with documentation)
  • COVID-19 vaccine or approved exemption/declination
  • Drug testing: Negative 9-panel within 1 year (Aya requirement only)
  • Respiratory Safety clearance within 1 year, renewed annually

Facility-Specific Documents

  • Passport-style photo for badge (professional appearance, solid light background)
  • Medical Statement Non-Employee Ability to Work form (preferred within 90 days of start)
  • Review and sign:
    • Commitment to Health & Wellness
    • Code of Conduct
    • Confidentiality Agreement
    • Non-Employee Affidavit
  • Completion of WellSpan Learning Management System (LMS) modules prior to start
  • New Hire Orientation required by end of first day

Additional Notes

  • Candidate must be prepared to float to various units as needed
  • Facility enforces tobacco and fragrance-free policy
  • Candidate may be assigned to care for COVID-19 patients
  • Two professional references required within 3 years
  • Most recent resume/application required
