Travel RN - PCU Multi Trauma

Location: Denver, Colorado

Unit Information

• Unit: Medical Trauma Unit (MTU 655) – Step-Down Unit
• Beds: 20
• Staff: 40 total
• Shifts:

  • Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 5 nurses, 3 techs
  • Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, 5 nurses, 2 techs
• Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:4 (charge nurse is patient-free)
• Equipment: Vents, Feeding Pumps, IV Pumps, Wound Vacs, Specialty beds, Suction, Chest Tubes
• EMR System: Meditech

Job Requirements

• Certifications:

  • BLS (required)
  • ACLS (preferred)
  • NIH Certification
• Licenses: Registered Nurse License
• Specialty Experience: Minimum 2 years as an RN
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

Skills & Responsibilities

• Must have:

  • Ability to manage chest tubes, trauma patients, tracheostomies, and suction
• Preferred:

  • ACLS certification
• Typical Procedures:

  • Chest tube placement
  • Bedside bronchoscopy assistance
• Personality Fit:

  • Team player
  • Comfortable with a highly acute patient population and challenging cases
