Description

Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Opportunity

Location: Camden, New Jersey
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Must float within 5 hospitals within skillset (Voorhees, Marlton, Mt. Holly, Willingboro, and OLOL)
  • Return to Office (RTO) required at time of submission; no RTO after submission accepted
  • Block scheduling NOT allowed
  • Required to pass Dysrhythmia test within 72 hours of signing (only 2 attempts allowed; must be taken on a PC, not iOS device)
  • Navy Blue Scrubs required

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years CVICU experience (higher value confirmed)
  • Must have open heart recovery experience (directly from the OR)
  • Experience with balloon pumps, LVADs, Impella devices, and ECMO
  • First-time travelers accepted but not preferred

Certifications & Licenses Required

  • ACLS (AHA or ARC only; must not expire within 30 days of contract start)
  • BLS (AHA or ARC only; must not expire within 30 days of contract start)
  • State RN License with primary source verification
  • NURSYS verification required
  • Dysrhythmia competency test (pass/fail) required for this role
  • Other certifications as applicable (PALS, NRP, NIH Stroke Certification) depending on unit assignment

Skills & Competencies

  • Charting experience with EPIC
  • EOW (Every Other Weekend) / EOH (Every Other Holiday) availability required
  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
  • Color Blind Testing within 1 year of start
  • Competency exams as applicable to specialty

Health & Background Requirements

  • 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
  • Physical exam within last 12 months
  • Fit mask test completed onsite during orientation (must be completed before first shift)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start (with specific requirements for positive responders)
  • Annual TB questionnaire
  • Required immunizations or positive titers: Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
  • 10-panel drug screen without THC panel within 6 months of start, updated annually
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required by October 31
  • Eye exam with visual acuity 20/40 or better
  • Latex questionnaire required

Documentation & Compliance

  • Proof of I9 or attestation
  • Government-issued photo ID
  • E-Verify proof or attestation
  • References: 2 professional references within last 2 years required
  • Employment application and skills checklist (updated annually)
  • Work history verification required for New Jersey candidates (minimum 1 year prior to start date verified, allowing 30-day gaps or less)
  • Facility-specific documents including badge photo and personal/auto insurance if applicable

Additional Notes

  • Local rate adjustment for candidates living within 50 miles of the hospital
  • Candidates must complete all required documentation and certifications by specified deadlines to avoid contract cancellation
  • Dysrhythmia test failure or missed deadlines will result in contract cancellation and denial of rehire from the hospital system

This position is ideal for experienced CVICU nurses with advanced cardiac care skills and the ability to work across multiple hospital locations within the system.
