    Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

    Job Description

    • Telemetry/Ambulatory Care RN responsible for assessment, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care in an acute patient setting.
    • Provide direct patient care, patient/family education, and manage transitions of care.
    • Deliver holistic and individualized care considering psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors.
    • Foster collaborative relationships with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare providers through effective communication.

    Requirements

    • California RN Licensure
    • BLS (AHA) certification
    • Minimum 2 years of solid telemetry experience and ACU/PACU experience
    • Shift: 4 x 10-hour days, 0600-1000 start times; no on-call or weekend rotation

    Certifications & Competencies

    • ACLS (AHA or ARC) – verify by position
    • BLS (AHA or ARC)
    • PALS (AHA or ARC) – verify by position
    • NRP (AHA/AAP) – Instructor or Advanced Provider Course, verify by position
    • CCRN – verify by position
    • TNCC – valid for 4 years, verify by position
    • EFM – verify by position (typically for L&D)
    • Tech Cert Verification – required within 30 days of start, as applicable
    • State License – hard copy or documentation including license number required
    • State License Verification – primary source online verification within 30 days of start
    • NURSYS Verification (RN) – within 30 days of start
    • IV Certification (if applicable)
    • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) – verify by position
    • NIH Stroke Certification – verify by position
    • Miscellaneous certifications as applicable (e.g., Crisis Prevention Institute, EKG/Medication testing)
    • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam – required as applicable
    • Competency Exam – minimum passing score 80% or Angoff score, as applicable
    • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam – may be required for some Tele units

    Background Checks & Screening

    • 7-year background check required within 6 months of start, including SSN trace with all aliases, county searches, nationwide sex offender search, education verification, and international search if applicable.
    • FACIS Level 3 screening required within 2 weeks of start and monthly thereafter.
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, OFAC Sanctions List, Medi-Cal Suspended and Ineligible Provider List as applicable.
    • Sex Offender Search within 90 days of start.
    • Transcript/Diploma verification or attestation if verification unsuccessful.
    • Pending background check attestation not accepted at this facility.

    Health & Immunization Requirements

    • Physical Exam within 1 year of start (Aya Physical Statement acceptable).
    • Fit Mask test within 1 year, renewed annually (specific mask types accepted).
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years (TDAP required, TD alone not accepted).
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days of start; TB questionnaire within 90 days, renewed annually.
    • Immunizations or positive titers required for:
      • Rubeola (Measles)
      • Mumps
      • Rubella
      • Hepatitis B (series or declination)
      • Varicella
    • Drug Testing: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids per CA law).
    • Seasonal Flu Vaccination or signed declination required during flu season (11/1-4/30).
    • Color Blind Exam (in-person) if applicable.
    • Respiratory Safety Clearance prior to start, renewed annually (not required for some roles).

    Employment History & Documentation

    • Full 7 years of work history required on application with no gaps; verification required for up to 7 years.
    • References: 2 professional references required for clinical/allied/per diem acute care; 1 for per diem non-acute care.
    • Unit-specific skills checklist required, renewed annually (Aya only).
