Travel RN - Emergency Department (ED)

Location: Wichita, Kansas
Employment Type: Travel

Unit Information

Unit: Emergency Department (52 beds)
Staffing:
- Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 4 nurses, 1 tech, 1 unit clerk, 1 physician, 1 midlevel provider per pod
- Night Shift: Same as day shift
Patient Ratios:
- Average: 3:1
- Low acuity: 5:1
- Pediatrics: Team nursing
Equipment: Alaris infusion pumps
EMR System: Meditech

Required Certifications & Licenses

BLS (Basic Life Support)
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
NIH Certification
TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
Valid Kansas RN License

Experience Requirements

Minimum 2 years of experience as an RN in Emergency Department or similar specialty (highest required years)
Experience working in large facilities or similar high-volume EDs (52 beds or larger) preferred
Prior travel experience or experience at large facility areas is required

Strong focus on patient experience

Unit Expectations & Guidelines

Must scan patient and medications every time as per unit policy
Familiarity with Meditech EMR is preferred

Contract Length

Approximately 13 weeks

This position is ideal for RNs with solid ED experience who thrive in fast-paced, high-acuity environments and have prior travel nursing experience.
